Busy Week

It's been an extremely busy week. I have been in "nurse mode." Ryan and Bailey are still recuperating but seem to be improving. They both have follow-up appointments next week. Scarlett made two trips to Cincinnati Children's this week. She has so much medical equipment these days that it takes over an hour to load the car and pack up her medical supplies. The appointments were thankfully well visits so I was able to plan accordingly.

She met with her Pulmonologist on Tuesday and had Neuromuscular Clinic Day on Thursday. We were at the Neuromuscular Clinic for almost 6 hours. Scarlett luckily had her IPod to keep her entertained while I visited with all of the specialists. We saw a Nutritionist, Genetic Counselor, Physical Therapist, Pediatric Rehabilitationist and Neurologist. Scarlett also made a visit to the lab for a blood draw. The Phlebotomist was awesome and got her on the first stick. All of the specialists thought Scarlett was doing really well. She is 38 inches long and weighs almost 27 lbs. My back and arms have been really hurting and now I know why. Scarlett isn't a little baby anymore.

The specialists gave us a lot of homework. We have to schedule appointments with an Interventional Radiologist, Orthotist, Respiratory Therapist and Nutrionist. They would also like us to touch base with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and her General Pediatrician. Whew...
