She's a fighter!

Scarlett has had an extremely scary and tough week. We got some results back from her physician and she has pseudomonas and strep. She is currently on antibiotics and requires even more respiratory treatments. She has so many secretions that we have to suction her mouth every three to five minutes. We are doing more respiratory treatments and keeping her on the ventilator longer in hopes that it will help her fight the infections. Her respiratory treatments take about 35 minutes and were are doing them every two to four hours depending on how she's sounding and feeling. We are exhausted but Scarlett's fighting spirit keeps us going. Here's a picture of Scarlett on the vent wearing a flower pin that I made for her.

Sorry to hear this! Stella just got out last night after fighting serratia (similar to pseudomonas) and pneumonia . . . is she on cipro? It knocks it out after 24 hours if it's an aggressive dose. Are you doing pulmozyne through an IPV? If not, that really helps too, in addition to it being followed by the cough assist and suction. Hang in there, praying! Stella was in for 4-5 days.

Annie forgot to tell you that many choir members are doing the walk with me in just two days. We all prayed at choir last night for Scarlett to beat this current infection.I KNOW God & His angels are right in her room. Can't wait to see her in June! Love you all, Mamma
