Power Outage

Flameless Candles

A violent wind storm came through Friday night that knocked out our power.  It was very scary because this storm came with no warning.  At 5pm our electricity went out.  10 seconds later I heard Scarlett's generator kick on.  I was thankful that the generator successfully came on.  We planned for a situation like this and I'm so thankful that we planned accordingly.  You see, Scarlett's life is dependent on machines.  Some of her machines do not have battery back-ups so it's critical that we have an emergency back-up power plan.  Before we moved Scarlett into our new house we had a generator installed.  We also have two marine batteries just in case the gnererator were to fail.  The generator doesn't power the entire house.  It is only for the areas that Scarlett would use.  We have flashlights and flameless candles for the other rooms in the house.

The power was out for 14 hours.  Yes, 14 hours.  It was very scary and I hope that we are not put in that situation again.  Scarlett did great and all of her machines worked off of the generator.  Having a generator installed was by far one the best decisions we've ever made.

SO grateful for the generator! It's worth every penny we spent! Our T V s are still OUT. Think maybe I am in withdrawal. Keep making cookies to pass the time.
