- A Power Wheelchair which retails for $59,000.
- A Portable Cough Assist Machine which retails for $4,000. We currently have a cough machine but it's not portable so it's difficult to take with us. Scarlett get's a lot of mucus plugs which causes her to stop breathing and turn blue. The cough machine helps us remove the mucus so that Scarlett can breath easier. Having a portable machine would allow us to travel safely with Scarlett without having to worry about her getting a mucus plug.
- A Tobii Eye Gaze Communication Device which retails for $15,000. Scarlett recently received an anonymous donation of $7,500 that will go towards the Tobii Eye Gaze. So we are halfway to our goal!!! Yay! The Tobii Eye Gaze would allow Scarlett to communicate with us through her eyes. The Eye Gaze System is able to read Scarlett's eyes so she just has to look at what she wants on the computer. It's an amazing piece of technology. SMA does not affect Scarlett's mind. It affects her muscles. She has so much to say and this communication device would change her world. She would be able to tell us her wants and needs. Scarlett tested out the machine over the summer and did very well with it. We submitted for the device through both of her insurance companies and they denied it. Insurance companies are not wanting to pay for communication systems. Isn't that sad? So at this time the only way Scarlett will get an Eye Gaze System is if we purchase one.
- She is also always in need of Medical Supplies and Medications
I realize that times are difficult and not everyone is able to make a donation. If you have any questions or if you would like to help by doing a fundraiser please contact me at AnnieLandefeld@yahoo.com.
Please keep in mind that your donation is tax-deductible.
Thanks!

Wonderful. She is so precious & deserving of all that will help & facilitate her to cope with her disease.
Have u tried contacting the Clara Abbott fund. I thought it was available to both current & former employees as well as providing grants to the general public?!
