Fun in The Scarlett Sanctuary

We've had a lot of fun adding things onto The Scarlett Sanctuary.  Here are some of the fun things we've been working on.

Grandpa Don picked up some more boulders for the garden.  There were so many and it was hard to choose.

I found the perfect bird house to match her boulder.

We had an extra-wide walkway put in on the side of the house that connects to the Scarlett Sanctuary.  Grandma Liz helped me plant things on the right side of the walkway.

Grandpa John and Ryan planted a bunch of evergreens on the hill for privacy.

Uncle Ben and Ryan put up an arbor for Scarlett to walk under as she enters.  They had to modify it to go over the extra-wide handicapped accessible walkway.

Ryan and Grandpa Don cut down part of that tree.  Do you see Grandpa all the way up there? Let's just say it was a huge and scary process.  Ryan and Uncle Ben also put in stepping stones that lead to the basement.  You can see them on the bottom of the picture.

Dad working on the garden.  He planted a lot of stuff.

Helping Mommy plant.

The completed arbor.  We put up flower boxes and climbing roses.
We decided to put up a small privacy fence along the path.  Ryan still needs to stain the wood but he's waiting for things to dry out.  The fence will match the arbor.
We've been busy planting things next to her arbor and fence.

Planting things next to the pathway so Scarlett has a lot of pretty things to look at.

We planted some shrubs next to the beginning of the walkway.

We've been busy... We still need to edge things out and add mulch but it's looking great.  Scarlett loves it.
There are all kinds of bird houses and little statues in the Scarlett Sanctuary.

I got these really cool solar powered firefly lights for one of the trees in the back.  They look like real fireflies.  Scarlett loves them!
Using a special switch adapted bubble maker.  She's using her foot to turn it on and off.

We added a bird bath.  Grandma Liz gave it to us last year and we finally found the perfect spot for it.

Another afternoon playing with Bubbles.  She has her eyes locked on the one in the top left corner.

Filling the bird feeders.  We get a lot of birds.

Hanging with Parker.

Waving hello.

Watching the bubbling boulder.

Look at the pretty Blue jay.  Scarlett likes it when we throw out peanuts to them because they always fly over and pick them up.  Also in this picture, you can see the cute kitty statue from a high school friend of mine, a pink tulip hummingbird feeder from the Butterfly exhibit that we went to and a tall pink-cup bird feeder from the contractor that did Scarlett's handicapped accessible bathroom.

Squirrels... Scarlett likes watching them.

Here is another picture of Scarlett and the cute kitty statue.

We put up a handicapped accessible swing in the Sanctuary.

Weeeeeeeee...  Scarlett loves swinging.

This is just the beginning of more fun stuff to come. We've already made so many fun memories in the Scarlett Sanctuary!
