Scarlett did really well during the procedures yesterday. I'm so proud of her! The Botox was nothing like what I've seen on TV. It was a sterile procedure so we all had to gown-up and wear masks. They also had to clean and prep the areas. They used an ultrasound machine to determine where to inject. She had four injections and it took about an hour to complete all of them. They numbed the areas which helped with the pain. The actual needle pokes didn't hurt her. The masks and bright lights did scare her and I don't blame her. I would be scared too! I really hope the Botox helps control her secretions. We've had some scary episodes lately where Scarlett has literally turned blue because she was choking on her own secretions.
The GJ feeding tube change took about 30 minutes. It was a routine change done in Internventional Radiology. I held her hand as she watched the Ice Age movie. I don't think the GJ change hurt her. It was just a little uncomfortable.
