Not feeling well

Scarlett isn't feeling well. We are worried that she has a virus. She is defiantly not her normal self. Her secretions are very thick and she has a lot of them. She has had a couple of mucus plugs that have been challenging to remove. A mucus plug is basically a thick (like rubber cement) glob of mucus that is blocking her airway.

Scarlett is unable to cough, sneeze, blow her nose and swallow so we have to do our best to manage those secretions. We are keeping a close eye on her and hoping that things start to improve. If she has another episode, we are heading straight to the ER. Scarlett has a lot of SMA friends in the hospital right now with nasty viruses. I hate that so many SMA kids are sick. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

It's Ryan's Birthday today and he spent the evening doing treatments with me. I feel bad because he should be doing fun birthday stuff like eating cake and ice-cream.

I left Scarlett's room for a couple of minutes to disinfect some of her things. When I came back in the room, she was wearing her Dad's hat. It made my heart melt. How cute. Daddy said she was cold.
