Treasures

Scarlett got a fun care package in the mail from my friend Denise. It was full of toys that Scarlett can play with like tiny dolls that fit in her hands, stickers, hair accessories, light-up bracelets and a wand. She even included a toy for Bailey and lotion products for my hands. My hands are a mess because I'm constantly using hand sanitizer and washing them with hospital grade soap & water. I've never met Denise before. She started following Scarlett's blog about a-year-ago and has been so supportive. She's constantly commenting on Scarlett's Blog. Her kind thoughts and support mean so much to me. Thank you Denise!

Here is a picture of Scarlett wearing some of the hair accessories from her care package.

You will have to describe her facial movements for us. I noticed in the first picture her forehead is scrunched up. I would think she was upset but it may mean something else. I love the ponytails, such beautiful hair.

Hi Darci! Scarlett wasn't upset in the first picture. She was trying to smile. She has to use all of the muscles in her face to get a little smile. Her eyebrow muscles are the strongest so they are usually the ones that show the most expression. When Scarlett is upset she either cries or holds her breath.

Scarlett has pretty good control over her eyebrows. We hope to use that as a way to communicate better with her. We are currently trying to teach her that raising her eyebrows means "yes" and closing her eyes means "no."
