Neurology Follow Up

Yesterday we had an appointment with Scarlett's Neurologist, Physical Therapist and Nutritionist at Children's Hospital.  We left the house at 12:30 pm and we didn't get home until after 6:30pm.  It was a long day.

Scarlett enjoyed her car ride.

We got the best room at the Neurologists office.  It was a large room with about five windows.  Scarlett had a great view of the city.

We could almost see our new house from the window.  It's way in the back next to the building on the right.

Grandpa has been such a trooper.  He drives us to and from all of our appointments.  He drops us off at the front of the hospital so we don't have to worry about navigating Scarlett's wheelchair around the small dark parking lot.  He also patiently waits with us.  He's such a good grandpa!  He looks a little tired in this picture.  There is a good chance that he's taking a snooze.  Ha!

Scarlett had to get a lot of blood drawn.  I lost count but they had to take around 8 vials of blood.  It may of been more but I couldn't look.  She cried big tears when they poked her.  You can see her band aid on her left arm.

The Neurologist said Scarlett has scoliosis, osteoporosis and hip dysplasia.  We are going to follow-up with an orthopedic surgeon this summer.  She also wants to see us back in three months to discuss her weight, length and bone density.

Scarlet made everyone chuckle yesterday.  It's obvious that she's tall but we were all taken back when they measured her.  They actually measured her twice because the first measurement didn't seem correct.  Scarlett's height is literally off the charts.  She is in the 105th percentile for height.  Hahaha!  Scarlett, you go girl!

Glad grampa is such a big help. Don't know what we'd do without him! He does seem to nap a lot after those hospital trips! Love, gramma

You have had so many appointments for Scarlett lately..you must be exhausted. So very glad you have help from grandpa. :)

Scarlett- Wow girl you are tall! :) I have a special treasure I am making for you. When you get it you need to remember I dont sew and am just starting out so it isnt of the highest of quality but it is made with love. I hope to finish it within the next week or two and have it coming your way. I think I mentioned that I was going to start making pillowcase dresses and I would send you one...this isnt that yet...plus I think I need to know how long you are so I dont end up sending you a shirt instead of a dress. ;) Sending you love hugs and sweet butterfly kisses.
